Magdalena Frech v Jodie Burrage Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came in 2017 in an ITF competition in Surbiton and Frech had won that in three sets.

Frech Overcomes Zhu
Having edged out Britain’s Sonay Kartal in the first round, Frech did not face as many difficulties in getting past Lin Zhu to make it to the quarterfinals.
Her 6-2, 6-4 win over Zhu took her only an hour and 27 minutes and saw her lose her serve just once in the encounter.
The first set was as clinical as it could get for Frech who broke her opponent twice to go 4-0 up and even had a break-point to serve for 6-0. She closed it out soon after that.
Frech did something in the second set too as she overcame Zhu’s serve on two occasions to take a 4-1 lead. At this point Frech was broken for the first – and only – time in the match but she had enough fuel left in the tank to get past her Chinese opponent.
Having won a few matches on grass in the past, it’s no surprise Frech has made it this far so far and would be very much in the contest irrespective of who she faces at whatever stage of this tournament.

Burrage Surprises Linette
Twice in a row now, Burrage has gone into a match as a second favourite and for the second time she has come away a winner.
Burrage, who was knocked out of the Surbiton ITF competition in the first round, shocked Magda Linette in straight sets to make it to the quarterfinals.
In a match lasting an hour and 36 minutes, Burrage turned out a 7-5, 6-3 winner despite losing her serve on two separate occasions in the match. The first came in the very first service game which meant that Linette looked to have started off the way one would have expected her to, taking a 3-0 lead.
The British player broke back in the seventh game and then again in the 11th before serving it out to 15 in the very next game.
In the second set, Burrage went 2-0 up and while she was broken in the sixth game, she had enough firepower left to get the better of Linette’s serve in the seventh and the ninth game.
Can she serve as well against Frech too, having won 74% of her first serve points here?
Frech v Burrage Prediction and Tip
Frech is 4/6 to win this which means Burrage starts off a second favourite yet again. This time around we believe Frech will see it through and end Burrage’s fairy-tale.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Frech to win: 4/6
- High Risk Tip: Frech to win in straight sets: 13/8
