Andrey Rublev v Alexander Bublik Head to Head
There have been three main draw matches between these two players before this and Rublev has won them all. Bublik’s only win came in a qualifier at the 2016 ATP Moscow.

Rublev Continues His Solid Run for the Season
He might have won just one title this year but Rublev has shown immense consistency all year and this performance at the Halle Open is another testimony to that.
After facing a sterling challenge in the first round where he was taken to three sets by Wu Yibing, Rublev overcame Yannick Hanfmann with ease in the second. He was forced to come back from being a set down to defeat Tallon Griekspoor to set up a meeting with Roberto Bautista-Agut in the semifinal.
It was never expected to be a straightforward encounter but Rublev made things so much easier for his own self as he saved five of the six break-points he faced.
More vitally he gave himself a whopping 12 chances to break his opponent and was successful four times, winning 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 42 minutes in the end to seal the final berth.
Rather interestingly, the only other time Rublev has made the final of a tournament on grass was also here, in 2021. He had lost to the unheralded Ugo Humbert in that title-decider and will now hope he can overturn that record and become the first player to win ATP 500 titles on grass, hardcourts and clay.

Bublik Makes it Two Upsets in a Row
Having grabbed the semifinal berth after defeating Jannik Sinner in the previous round, Bublik made it his second upset victory in a row when he stunned Alexander Zverev to seal his finals place.
Bublik was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over Zverev in a match lasting an hour and 28 minutes which was made more fascinating by the manner in which he throttled his opponent’s attempts to get the better of his serve.
There was just one break-point against Bublik in the entire match and he brushed that off, while overcoming Zverev’s serve once in each of the two sets. Bublik’s 94% first serve points won was probably the cornerstone of his success but more importantly his ability to keep Zverev down to winning a mere 44% of his second serve points also helped no end.
All year, Bublik had struggled to get any kind of rhythm going especially since making the semifinal of the Marseille Open in February. These four successive wins and a chance to win just his second career title couldn’t have come at a better time.
Rublev v Bublik Prediction and Tip
Rublev might start off a favourite but will do well to not underestimate Bublik here. Not too often do players get into the kind of rhythm that he is in, with wins over Sinner and Zverev underlining that.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Rublev to win: 8/11
- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 24.5 games in the match: 10/11
