This will be their first meeting at the tour level. Nakashima won their only lower level meeting in the Wimbledon qualifier in 2021, winning the first qualifying round 6-1, 6-1.

After an impressive run on grass last year, Brandon Nakashima will be looking for a repeat performance this year.

Last year, the American produced his best ever Grand Slam performance in Wimbledon, reaching the round of 16. He was also a quarterfinalist in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and in the Surbton Challenger but he went down in the round of 16 in Eastbourne, after qualifying for the main draw and winning his first round match.

This year, the world no. 54 is 1-2 on grass, as he fell in the opening round of the Rosmalen Open, and could win just one round in Halle.

Overall, Nakashima is 6-9 at the tour level and 8-11 overall this year.

His best was a semifinal finish on clay in Lyon, however, he has failed to win consecutive matches in any of the other tournaments this year.

Vukic Rolls Past Mansouri

World no. 92 Aleksandar Vukic knocked out Tunisia’s Skander Mansouri in the second qualifying round on Sunday to reach just his second career main draw on grass.

Vukic, who had qualified for Queen’s Club in 2021, lost his opening round match in that tournament.

The 27-year-old did not face a single break point against Mansouri, while he converted half of six to win the contest 6-3, 6-2 and reach his first tour-level main draw since Huston in April.

Vukic had won his first qualifying round match against Arthur Fery, beating the Briton 6-1, 6-4.

While, the Aussie has struggled at the tour level, he has been pretty good at the Challenger level, winning the title in Busan and finishing as runner-up in Seoul and Oeiras, Portugal.

Nakashima v Vukic Prediction and Tip

Although he is off to a slow start on grass, Nakashima was very good last year and will be looking to draw inspiration from those performances. He will hold the edge over Vukic. Expect the American to ease into teh next round.
