Qualifier Rinderknech Eases Through
Rinderknech was forced to enter qualifying in Mallorca, where he needed three sets to win both his matches.
So far, though, he has found it easier to make progress in the main draw.
In the first round, he beat the Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas in straight sets, although both went to a tie-break.
It was a familiar face on the other side of the net in the second round in the form of compatriot Constant Lestienne, but it was a match that Rinderknech controlled frrm the moment when he broke serve midway through the first set. Another break helped him take the set in style.
The second set was almost a carbon copy of the first – an early break to Rinderknech, and then a second, in this case helping him wrap up the match.

Eubanks Beats Two Fellow Americans
So far in Mallorca, Eubanks has only faced American opposition.
In the first round, that took the form of the qualifier, Alex Michelsen, the world number 250, and it took three tough sets to beat him and set up a meeting with the number three seed, Ben Shelton.
It proved to be another closely fought encounter.
Serve dominated the first set to such an extent that not a single break point was created. Instead, it came down to a tie-break which Shelton won.
However, the world number 35 dropped his serve at the start of the second set, and Eubanks was able to capitalise on that to level the match.
Although both men created break points in the third set, none were converted, and the match was decided by another tie-break. And this time it was Eubanks who held his nerve and claimed the win.
