After battling past Guido Pella in a two-hour-and-32-minute second-round contest, world no. 43 Adrian Mannarino needed an hour and 46 minutes to dispatch countryman Corentin Moutet in the second round on Thursday.
The fourth seed Mannarino saved 5 of 6 break points and converted 4 of 9 to beat the world no. 80, 7-5, 6-2.
The 34-year-old left-hander will be paying his second semifinal in Mallorca. He had reached the final four stage on his only other appearance in 2021.
Mannarino is 19-14 this season. This will be the world no. 43’s first semifinal appearance of the season.

Hanfmann Takes Down Lopez
Yannick Hanfmann made it to the semifinals in Mallorca with a straight sets victory over Feliciano Lopez.
The win for the German brought an end to a 26-year playing career for the 41-year-old Spaniard.
Hanfmann, who saved both the break points that he faced in the match, converted 3 of 9 break points and struck 27 winners in the match to take the contest 6-2, 6-4.
The 31-year-old world no. 48 had started off the tournament with a 6-2, 6-1 drubbing of Pedro Cachin. He then knocked out the top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the second round.
Hanfmann has enjoyed a very good run this year. The two-time tour-level finalist improved to 17-9 following the three wins in Mallorca.
