Xinyu Wang v Storm Hunter Head to Head
Both their previous meetings, including one in the qualifiers of the Miami Open 2022 and another at the Australian Open this season, have gone in favour of Wang.

Wang’s Played Just One Tournament on Grass in 2023
Wang, whose only previous main draw win at the highest level on grass came in Berlin last year, opted to participate in only one grass court competition this season.
That also came at the Berlin Open in which she needed to win a couple of qualifiers to make it to the main draw. Having done that, Wang was a huge favourite coming into that opener against Jaimee Fourlis but at one set apiece, was forced to withdraw from their encounter because of an elbow injury.
The big question, therefore, is if Wang’s fully fit coming into this year’s Wimbledon.
So while she has a huge edge as far as her ranking is concerned in this match, not to mention her head to head, Wang could enter this match with a touch of wariness.

Hunter Makes it Through the Qualifiers
Hunter has been on the circuit for a few years now and has been playing on grass since 2012 indicating she is no stranger to the surface.
While she has never been a top-100 player, Hunter has featured in main draws of Grand Slam tournaments, especially at home in the Australian Open. Earlier this year, she won her maiden main draw match at a major too at the French Open.
But till this season, Hunter had never made it to the main draw at Wimbledon.
A straightforward win over Xu Mingge in the first qualifier here was followed by a huge upset over Elina Avanesyan in the second round before she clinched her maiden berth in the first round with a straight-set win over Nao Hibino.
With Wang possibly still suffering from the after-effects of her injury, Hunter will think she still has a chance here.
Wang v Hunter Prediction and Tip
Nothing to choose between the two with both players starting out at 10/11 to win this. Backing Hunter to edge past Wang here.
