Milos Raonic v Tommy Paul Head to Head
They played once before and it happened in 2021 with Raonic winning that match.

Raonic Eases Past Novak
Former finalist Milos Raonic produced a really solid effort to take Dennis Novak who was favoured by some to win the event. Raonic demonstrated that well-known skillset which starts with his serve. The Canadian has 28 aces losing only 11 points on his first serve.
He played a really solid match turning around the match after losing the opening set. As long as he continues to serve this way, Raonic will be a very tough player to handle for most of the field. His forehand is still a great weapon but mostly if he gets a short ball.
His serve takes care of that but Paul is in a unique position with his own shot-making to create a lot of trouble for the Canadian. Raonic won their only previous match so he should have some solid confidence going into this one.
It’s a rather easy proposition. If he seres well he’ll have a chance but if he doesn’t he won’t. His for seems to be solid though he played only a handful of matches so it’s too hard to say.

Paul Cruises in Opener
Tommy Paul has all the tools to be a really solid grass player. He can be quite streaky which is his main problem as sometimes he’ll simply produce an effort that is simply not good enough. The serve is a good weapon as is the forehand.
He had a pretty solid performance but he’ll need to do a lot better if he wants to beat Raonic. Only six aces is not something that will fly against Raonic. He might need to play a couple of tiebreaks so having many of those free points will be crucial.
He didn’t handle Raonic that well the previous time they played but he’s a far better player this year so there should be a chance. It’s been a good year for Paul with 28 wins at 15 losses. He is 20-12 all-time on gras and 7-3 this year so his form is good.
He’ll need to produce some top shots if he hopes to win as the margin for victory will be very small.
Raonic v Paul Prediction and Tip
It’s a very tough one to predict as Paul is favoured but I do like Raonic’s chances in this one. I’ll opt for the over at 38.5 as I think we’ll see at least four sets.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 38.5 games in the match: 5/6
