Caroline Garcia v Marie Bouzkova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both have been won by Marie Bouzkova. Interestingly both matches came on grass and Garcia is yet to win a set against Bouzkova.

Leylah Fernandez is a former Grand Slam finalist but has lost her way a little in these last couple of years. Garcia, on the other hand, has had the season of her career in 2022 and while she is struggling to replicate that this season, it’s not been all bad for the world number five.
In other words, Garcia was expected to make it through her second round match against the 95th-ranked Fernandez with ease.
It did not turn out that way.
In the very first set, Garcia was broken twice from the score being 3-3 before she came into the contest by levelling things out in the second.
The decider was a hard-fought one with Garcia getting two break-points but frittering both and the set going into a match tie-breaker. The first six points in it were all mini breaks of serves and it was only the seventh point where Garcia held on to her serve.
Following that she broke Fernandez twice again before romping home in a match that last two hours and 32 minutes.
Can Garcia now turn things around against Bouzkova?

Anett Kontaveit had already announced she was retiring from the sport at the end of this tournament and it turned out to be Bouzkova who ended that run for the Estonian.
Bouzkova, who had come into this year’s Wimbledon having won just one match in this competition in her career and with back to back first round defeats in Birmingham and Eastbourne this year, did not waste too much time in overcoming Kontaveit.
She was on court for a mere 66 minutes for her 6-1, 6-2 rout of Kontaveit in which the 32nd seed saved all three break-points she faced and broke her opponent four times.
This follows another one-sided rout of Simona Waltert in the first round for Bouzkova and that should give her as much respite as it purports to give her confidence coming into this third round match.
Garcia v Bouzkova Prediction and Tip
Garcia is 4/5 to win this and we can understand why such long odds – Bouzkova’s had the better of Garcia in the past on grass and has done well this season too. We expect this to be a keen tussle but with Bouzkova making it through.
