Kasatkina Continues Solid Form
After a pretty solid run in Eastbourne a week before Wimbledon, Daria Kasatkina continued her solid run at Wimbledon. She won the opening two matches with ease putting herself up against Azarenka in the 3rd round.
It’s a really tough matchup for her as she is yet to beat Azarenka on the courts though it’s been a while since they played. The last time they played was back in 2020 and since then Kasatkina improved dramatically to become a much better player.
She’s had a decent year so far with a 21-15 record and 6-2 record on grass so far. She’s been pretty decent on grass in the past having a 27-15 record so far on the surface.
She’s excellent at covering the courts and sends a lot of balls back making it very hard for players to hit through her.

Azarenka Returns to Winning Ways
Victoria Azarenka hasn’t had the best of years so far with a 16-12 record at the moment of writing this piece. She has been a fairly solid player on grass for a very long time having a 55-25 record in her career. She’s only 3-2 so far arriving in London with a 1-2 record before the event.
It’s been a shaky year for Azarenka since the Australian Open. She played really well in Melbourne but failed to get anything going after that event.
Clay wasn’t very good and grass wasn’t very good either but she’s winning at Wimbledon. Beating Kasatina will be tough but she’s beaten her before so perhaps she can find some inspiration in those performances.
The baseline player will be crucial because she will need to find a way to hit through Kasatkina. Just like Madison Keys did in the Eastbourne final.

Kasatkina’s overall form makes her my pick to win this but we could see a third set here given the fighting nature of Azarenka.
