Petra Kvitova v Caroline Garcia Head to Head
The two players have met each other a total of six times on the WTA Tour. Their head to head record is currently tied at 3-3, with their last match taking place in 2017.
They met in the semifinal of the China Open where Garcia won 6-3, 7-5, to even the tally.
Kvitova Continues to Impress
Kvitova arrived in Miami after incurring a shocking, second-round defeat in the Indian Wells Open at the hands of Venus Williams. However, it didn’t take long for her to turn that form around and find her winning momentum again.
The World No. 2 started with a straight-set win over Maria Sakkari and followed it with a well-deserving, three-set victory over Donna Vekic. With that win, she also avenged her defeat to the young Croat in the St. Petersburg Open earlier this season.
Kvitova has lost only five matches so far while winning 19 of them, including the two in Miami. She won the Sydney International and followed it with a runner-up feat in the Australian Open and later, WTA Dubai. The two-time Wimbledon champion has been highly consistent this year albeit, she has been handed shocking defeats at times.
In addition to Williams and Vekic, Kvitova has also lost to Belinda Bencic, Naomi Osaka, and Anett Kontaveit.

Garcia Delivers her Best Performance
Garcia, who reached her career-high singles ranking as the World No. 4 last year in September, has struggled a lot with her form this year.
In the first few tournaments of the season, she lost in the early rounds and consequently, dropped out of the top 20. She did play well in the Fed Cup, winning both of her ties against the Belgian team but once again, she was back to her slump when she played in Dubai and Indian Wells.
Things have been rather different in Miami for the former Wuhan Open champion. In Miami, she first defeated Victoria Azarenka and then Julia Goerges to set up the Kvitova match.
