Podoroska Returns To Clay
After a brief stint on grass, Nadia Podoroska is making a return to her favourite surface in hopes of winning a few more matches. The Argentine once stood in the Roland Garros final which shows how well she can play on the surface.
Now that was an outlier and not something she delivers constantly but being back on clay should see her produced a better effort than on grass. Her season has been fairly fair with a 23-20 record overall but 15 of those wins came on clay.
She never played Rakhimova before but she certainly played players like her. The matches are expected to be on the longer side and Podoroska will need to find a good balance if she hopes to win this one. It’s going to be tough but I think she can get it done.
Her form isn’t that great but neither is that of her opponent so the match will fall on her racquet.

Rakhimova Hoping to Snap Losing Streak
Kamilla Rakhimova will be hoping to snap a losing streak as her last victory came at Roland Garros on the 31st of May. She’s a decent player though also one that hasn’t really found her good break. It’s been a lot of up-and-down tennis and this year hasn’t been that different.
The overall score is 20-20 which is not that impressive though clay has been her best surface at 11-9. She never played Podoroska and might have some trouble with her playstyle as the Argentine certainly plays a more aggressive brand of tennis.
Rakhimova has more variety and if she can break up the rhythm of her opponent then she could certainly get it done but it will be complicated. She doesn’t have the benefit of being in better form and traditionally, Podoroska has been the better player on clay.
Podoroska v Rakhimova Prediction and Tip
This one is very tough to call because both players are pretty equal in many ways though Podoroska should have the edge. At least on clay so I’m going to back her.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Podoroska to win the match: 3/4
