Cachin Is 9-18 at the Tour Level in 2023

After a promising 2022, when he won four Challenger titles from seven finals, Pedro Cachin has been off colour this season.

The 28-year-old Argentine is 9-18 at the tour level this season and as a result of his losing record, he has fallen 33 places since the start of the season to no. 90.

Cachin, who made his Masters debut this year, showed promise in Madrid, reaching the fourth round of the Madrid Open. He had also reached the final at the Madrid Challenger, but finished runner-up in the tournament.

Other significant performances for the Argentine this year included a semifinal appearance in the Perugia Challenger and quarterfinal finishes in Girona and Oeiras-2 Challengers.

So, he has got a few wins at the lower level but not much at the top level, barring a solid display in Madrid.

Form a Concern for Daniel

Like Cachin, Taro Daniel too has won nine tour-level matches this season, but unlike the Argentine, he has a winning record, having lost just 8. Overall, the Japanese has a 22-19 record this season and he is 6-8 on clay.

Daniel was in good form in March, when he reached the last eight stage in Acapulco and also made his way to the third round in both Indian Wells and Miami, but other than those performances he has been quiet for the rest of the season.

Ranked no. 112, the 30-year-old will be making his fourth appearance in Gstaad this year. After going down in the first round in 2017, he went on to reach the quarterfinals in 2018 and was in the second round in 2019.

How far can he go in this year’s edition?
