A string of defeats since making it to the final of the Cordoba Open had left Coria struggling on the ATP Rankings charts. The Argentine had entered last week’s Bastad Open on the back of no wins from seven matches at the highest level and that had meant he was forced to play on the Challenger circuit.
At Bastad, however, the 113th-ranked Coria showed some signs of form.
In fact in the very first round, Coria was a whopping 23/10 underdog against Sebastian Baez but managed to overcome his countryman in a third set tie-breaker.
This was followed by a straight-set drubbing of Leo Borg before Francisco Cerundolo ended his comeback run.
Coria will come into this encounter knowing he has a decent chance of extending his return to form with Huesler having had a few struggles of his own recently.

Huesler Falls in Gstaad Opener
Featuring in his home competition last week at Gstaad, Huesler was 4/6 odds to win his opener against Jurif Rodionov but he didn’t last too long.
In what turned out to be third successive defeat, Huesler was sent packing 6-3, 7-5 in that first round match.
What makes it worse for Huesler is the last time he won a match on clay came in Munich in April. Since then he has lost six successive ATP main draw encounters on this surface.
Overall this season, clay hasn’t been kind to Huesler in 2023 with the Swiss player losing seven of the eight matches he has played on this surface.
