Cameron Norrie v Alex de Minaur Head to Head
It’s 1-1 on head to head with Norrie having beaten de Minaur at the United Cup earlier this year.

Norrie Shocked in Los Cabos
In what was Norrie’s first tournament since getting knocked out in the second round of Wimbledon, he did not fare too well.
Norrie was found wanting against Aleksandar Kovacevic as he was sent packing in the very first match he played there. After getting a first round bye, Norrie squandered a first set win to go down to Kovacevic 5-7, 7-6 (7), 6-4 in the second.
This followed an interesting season of results for Norrie which had seen him do reasonably well but with that much room for improvement. Having hit a peak ranking of eighth in the world, Norrie has fallen to 13th at the moment and he now enters a competition in which he has rarely done well.
Having played here three times before this, Norrie’s record reads a second round exit, a first round ouster and a third round appearance. Can he turn things around quickly?

de Minaur Coming off Solid Los Cabos Showing
While he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Los Cabos Open last week, de Minaur will be rather pleased with his showing in that competition.
En route what was his third final of the season, de Minaur also overcame Tommy Paul before Tsitsipas got the better of him in straight sets.
What that means is that de Minaur enters the Canadian Open ranked 18th in the world, three away from his career-best ranking. He has not had the best of times at this Masters 1000 tournament in the past having reached the third round last season as his best showing.
That gives him a two-fold opportunity – one to better his record here and another to help himself to extra ranking points with a deep run in the tournament.
What does work against him is the quick turnaround time between Washington Open and Canadian Open and the fact he has been drawn to face a player ranked 13th in the world.
Norrie v de Minaur Prediction and Tip
de Minaur has the form but Norrie is a tough opponent and we can expect this to go into a third set as a result of that.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5
