The fourth edition of the Tennis Premier League will be played in India in 2022 as some of the top players in the country take to court to feature in the competition that is looking to unearth some serious tennis talent in the country. What is the Tennis Premier League?

It is one of the biggest tennis initiatives that is meant to touch the grassroots tennis and was first played in October 2018.

According to the official website, there were 500+ entries to feature in the opening edition and a total of 132 players featured in the first season.

The fourth season will be hosted in Mahalunge Balewadi Stadium in Baner, National Games Park, Pune, with eight teams fighting it out for top honours for this edition. There will be eight wheelchair players who will participate in this fourth edition of the Tennis Premier League as well.

The Tennis Premier League is backed by the All India Tennis Association (AITA), which is the tennis body that looks after tennis in the country and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour (IWTT).

Tennis Premier League Schedule for 2022

The fourth season of the TPL will be held between Wednesday, December 7 and Sunday, December 11, 2022. The exact schedule along with the match by match information will be revealed soon. The tournament will be played at Mahalunge Balewadi Stadium in Pune.

Tennis Premier League Format

The eight teams in action as mentioned above will be divided into two groups of four apiece. Each team will face off against the three others in their group in a round-robin format.

The top two teams in each of the two groups at the end of the group stages of the competition will face off in the semifinal which will be followed by the final.

How to Watch the Tennis Premier League Live?

This fourth edition of the Tennis Premier League is expected to be broadcast live on Sony 2 channel in India. This also means the live streaming rights of the competition are with SONLIV app or can be watched live with SonyLiv.com in India. You need to be a subscribed member obviously.
