Frenchman and left-handed Ugo Humbert has shown a steady growth in his career performances over the past few seasons to finally break into the top 30 in 2020. Check below for which racquet Ugo Humbert uses along with other information like its specifications.
A first Futures title in 2017 looks to have set in motion a tennis career which should see Humbert make it big.
Since then, till the time of writing this, Humbert has only improved each year. In 2018, Humbert added three more Futures titles to his kitty but more vitally also three Challenger tournament wins and doubled his Challenger count in 2019 with another three.
And in 2020, in a season when most of everyone else were struggling to get used to the longish break because of the pandemic, Humbert carved out a couple of ATP title victories, one on each side of the pandemic break to finish the year ranked a career-best of 30th.
Humbert’s breakthrough came at the Auckland Open early in the 2020 season when he defeated Casper Ruud, Marco Cecchinato, Denis Shapovalov, John Isner and Benoit Paire to win the title there. It was his second tournament of the year.
And just like that, in the second-last competition of the season, Humbert surprised Pablo Carreno-Busta and Alex De Minaur to win another competition, this time the European Open in Antwerp.
Late in the season, Humbert then made it to the quarterfinal of the Paris Masters, his first ever appearance in the last-eight stage of a Masters tournament.
Having reached the fourth round at the 2019 Wimbledon and beaten a top-10 player in the form of Daniil Medvedev on clay in Hamburg, the Frenchman is establishing himself as an all-surface player already.
Humbert’s game is reliant on his volleying skills with a desire to go offensive whenever possible. Which brings us to the question…
