John Isner v John Millman Head to Head

The two gents have met twice on the ATP Tour and Isner has won both the matches. They last met in the first round of the 2016 French Open, where Isner won in four sets.

Isner Looking Formidable on the American Circuit

John Isner, the American No. 1, has had a pretty interesting run over the last couple of weeks.

Over the course of his career, he has always been able to perform superbly in the North Americas and this year too, things are no different. In fact, of the 14 titles he has won so far, 12 of those came in the U.S tournaments.

Last week, he played in Delray Beach where he was a semifinalist – a repeat of his run from New York the week before. The defending Miami Open champion has certainly started his preparations for the American swing on the right note and now, he will be eager to get a title to boost his momentum.

In his opening round, he met Adrian Mannarino following which, he met Sam Querrey. He won that match in straight sets to reach the quarterfinal for the third consecutive time on the tour this year.

Millman Hoping to Make an Impression

In his last four events, Millman has won only one match – a victory that came in the Davis Cup against Damir Dzumhur. He started the year well with a quarterfinal appearance in the Sydney International but his form faded quickly thereafter.

While the Australian hasn’t dropped a set up until now, he hasn’t met a formidable opponent like Isner. His victims so far were the Spanish qualifier Marcel Granollers and the German underdog Peter Gojowczyk. He is still seeking his first title of the career and the closest he came to winning one was in Budapest last year, where he was the runner-up.
