Kiki Bertens v Martina Trevisan Head to Head

This is the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Martina’s Best Spell of the Season

The 25-year-old Italian started the tournament as a qualifier and made it to the main draw on the back of a couple of straight-set victories.

She started her main draw campaign against the Ukranian qualifier Nadiia Kichenok, whom she defeated 6-2, 6-1. That win also highlighted the first time this season that she won her opening match in the main draw, let alone reach the second round.

Her last event was in Irapuato, Mexico on the ITF circuit where she lost in the second round. She also played in the Mexican Open and St. Petersburg Open as a qualifier but never really managed to move past the early rounds.

Bertens Reaches yet Another Milestone

Bertens recently reached her career-high singles ranking as the World No. 6 following a rather consistent performance in the Indian Wells and Miami Open. In both cases, she reached the fourth round losing to Garbine Muguruza and Ashleigh Barty respectively.

The Dutchwoman was also a semifinalist in Sydney and later won the St. Petersburg Open. She has managed to keep herself in the top 10 with these consistent spells every now and then and certainly, they have done the trick for her.

Bertens won the Charleston Open last season after defeating Julia Goerges in the final. She later followed this title with championship runs in the Korea Open and Cincinnati Open.

Bertens v Trevisan Predictions & Tips

Kiki Bertens, being the defending champion, will certainly start this match as the fans’ favourite. Moreover, she has the edge over Trevisan in the form of a decent spell over the last couple of weeks, coupled with a superior playing style and more winning experience.
