Kenin Coming off an Impressive 2019

After an impressive 2018 and strong start to 2019, where she reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open, Collins had a rather sub-par season last year. Her game lacked consistency and could never put a run of impressive results together. In the 18 events after the Australian Open, she only managed to reach the last eight on two occasions. One of which was an ITF Circuit event.
But she has started the new season in a rather impressive fashion. After reaching the quarter-finals at Brisbane, she won her first-round match in Adelaide in straight sets. It will be a tough task for her to repeat her heroics of last season at the Australian Open, but an upturn in form is a promising sign for the American. She would also hope to add to her solitary title from Newport Beach that she won in 2018.
