Ruusuvori kicked off his Pune Open with two polar opposite sets against Gerasimov in the opening round, winning the first set 6-0 in just 25 minutes, then having to battle through the second set eventually winning 7-6(11) in a set that lasted 74 minutes.
During the encounter, Ruusuvori teed down 8 aces and won 35/46 points behind his first serve, also winning 64% of points behind the second delivery. The Finnish player saved 2/2 break points Gerasimov created, meaning he was not broken the entire match.
In the first set, the 22-year-old dominated, winning 75% of service points and 74% of return points, allowing his opponent to win just 9 points the entire set. The second set was a lot closer, winning only 34% of return points, but Ruusovori did enough to book his spot in the next round.
Prior to Pune, Ruusuvori reached the semi-finals of Melbourne (Summer Set) where he lost out to Nadal 6-4 7-5. At the Australian Open, Ruusuvori drew Auger-Alissame in the opening round, to which he displayed another impressive performance, narrowly losing out in 5-sets to the 9th seed 6-4 0-6 3-6 6-3 6-4.

Kopriva Defeats Ilkel for Second Time This Year
Kopriva has navigated his way from Q1 to the second round of the main draw. Throughout qualifying, the 24-year-old defeated Sureshkumar and Celikbilek to book his spot against Turkish opponent Ilkel. Kopriva comfortably eased his way past Ilkel 6-4 6-2 to set up a tie with the 6th seed.
During the tie, Kopriva hit 2 aces and won 23/27 points behind the first serve with the Czech only being broken once throughout the match. Kopriva also did a good job at putting pressure on the second-serve of Ilkel, with Ilkel winning just 6 points behind the second delivery. Winning 59% of the points, Kopriva comfortably booked his place in the next round and secure a second win of the year over Ilkel.
Prior to Pune, the 24-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the Bendigo challenger defeating Bemelmans, Ilkel, and Mena before narrowly losing to Escobedo 6-3 6-7(2) 7-6(2) in a near 3-hour battle.
Kopriva is the underdog for this tie, however, a surprise victory for the Czech would book a spot in the quarter-finals, where he would face either Vesely or Zapata Miralles.
Ruusovori v Kopriva Prediction and Tip
This will be a fun battle to watch, however, based on ranking and current form, Ruusuvori will likely experience few problems in this match and comfortably advance to the quarter-finals.
