Iga Swiatek v Magdalena Frech Head to Head
There have been no previous meetings between Swiatek and the 82nd-ranked Frech before this.

It was probably a much-needed break from Swiatek who must have been feeling the after-effects of a consistent time out on the courts since the start of the season.
Having already won six tournaments this year including the French Open, Swiatek’s run of 37 victories in a row was finally ended by Alize Cornet in the third round at Wimbledon. Since that defeat, Swiatek hasn’t taken to court and will look to get back to her winning ways yet again when she faces Frech.
That she starts off as such an overwhelming favourite is a no-brainer but to give some perspective to her record on clay this year, she hasn’t lost a match on this surface all season.
It’s three tournaments played, three tournaments won with 16 victories in a row under her belt to go with that.
And to add to that, Swiatek has dropped just a total of two sets in those matches. A 17th win beckons for her.

Frech at Career-Best at the Moment
Frech made it to the second round at Hamburg last week before bowing out to Barbora Krejcikova, which had followed her third round appearance at Wimbledon just before that.
A couple of second round appearances on the grass court swing had preceded that but on clay, Frech would have loved to do a lot better than she eventually did – opening defeats at Roland-Garros and Makarska probably didn’t do justice to the kind of start she had when she reached the last eight stage of the Paris Open competition.
She was a semifinalist at the WTA125 tournament in Saint-Malo as well, but facing up to the world number one, expecting her to get moving would be tough.
May be Swiatek’s rustiness is of help but Frech will hope to take some experience out of it.

Swiatek will look to continue her solid run for the season and another straight-set win on clay is very much on the cards for her.
