Benjamin Bonzi v Thiago Monteiro Head to Head

World No. 50 Benjamin Bonzi ended a four-match losing skid with a win in the second round of the Winston Salem Open on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Frenchman held off a determined Kyle Edmund for a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) victory in an hour and 44 minutes.
Bonzi won 83% points on the back of his first serve, saved half of four break points and converted 3 of 8 to end the losing streak which began with a quarterfinal defeat to John Isner in Newport.
Since then Bonzi lost in the opening rounds in Washington, Canada and Cincinnati.
Bonzi’s best this year include semifinal finishes in Marseille and Mallorca and he was also a quarterfinalist in Stuttgart.
A winner of six Challenger titles from seven finals, Bonzi has won two Challenger titles this year. He has made constant progress this season and will be looking to reach another tour-level quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Monteiro Breezes Past Basilashvili
World no. 67 Thiago Monteiro continued to progress in the Winston-Salem Open, knocking out sixth seed Nikoloz Basilashvili in the second round on Tuesday.
The Brazilian wasn’t broken in the match. as he saved both the break points that he faced and he converted 4 of 9 break points to win 6-4,, 6-1 in an hour and 11 minutes.
The 28-year-old had beaten Denis Kudla 7-6 (7-1), 7-5 in a two hour-plus first round contest.
Following the two wins, Monteiro is now 13-13 on the tour this year.
The Brazilian, who made the quarterfinals in Adelaide-2, Santiago and Belgrade, will be hoping to reach a fourth quarterfinal of the season, with a win on Wednesday.
