Barbora Krejcikova v Marta Kostyuk Head to Head

Just in February, Barbora Krejcikova was the new World No. 2. Now, she has dropped down to the #27 spot and if she doesn’t deliver a turnaround soon, she may go down further.
Her record is now 17-14, courtesy of a dominant, well-earned win against Ajla Tomljanovic in the Tallinn Open first round. The Czech took that match 6-1, 7-6(3), to reach round two.
Barbora has not won more than two matches in a tournament – at least in the singles draw – since her quarterfinal run at the Australian Open. Her last two events were the US Open and Cleveland Open, where she fell in round two to the likes of Bernarda Pera and Aleksandra Krunic.
That said, she has been absolutely phenomenal in doubles; Krejcikova is the current doubles #2 – having won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Can she finally tap into that success in Estonia this week?

Kostyuk Starts Well
Marta Kostyuk began her campaign with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Bernarda Pera in the first round here.
The 20-year-old is the current World No. 56 and has improved her tally to a respectable 24-16. Add to this her 2-0 lead over Krejcikova in the head-to-head department, it becomes evident why the youngster has got a solid chance of causing an upset.
However, it is worth noting that Kostyuk hasn’t been that impressive in recent weeks. She last competed in Portoroz, where she fell to Ekaterina Alexandrova in the opener. Before that, Victoria Azarenka knocked her out in round two at the Flushing Meadows.
But credit where it’s due, Marta did well to reach the semis in Granby and the third round in Eastbourne and the Australian Open. She is skilled and can punch above her weight.
Kostyuk v Krejcikova Prediction and Tip
Krejcikova should win this one, but given her form struggles, Kostyuk is equipped to add more to her problems. Expect a fierce clash – one with many games in the offing.
