Ana Bogdan v Anna Karolina Schmiedlova Head to Head

Carrying forward her fine form forward, Ana Bogdan dispatched Laura Pigossi 6-1, 6-2, in the WTA Emilia-Romagna opener.
It isn’t surprising, considering her litany of impressive results of late.
The 29-year-old was a semifinalist in the Slovenia Open most recently, upsetting the likes of Ajla Tomljanovic, Tamara Zidansek, and Beatriz Haddad Maia. Before that, Bogdan won the Iasi Challenger and was a runner-up in the Poland Open.
Earlier in the season, Ana also picked up an ITF title in France and reached the latter rounds in a couple of 125K events in Gaiba and Paris.
Bogdan is 32-14 at the moment and is among the players to beat in Parma.

Schmiedlova On a Resurgent Path
Anna Karolina Schmiedlova is having a good time in Italy as she has now won three matches without dropping a set.
Two of those came in the qualifiers against Jessica Peri and Alycia Parks. The Slovak maintained the same rhythm in the opener by beating Reka Jani 6-2, 6-4.
The results follow a quarterfinal appearance in the Budapest Challenger, where Schmiedlova fell to Viktoriya Tomova in straight sets. Unfortunately, she is yet to deliver a run like this on the WTA Tour since the Abierto Zapopan in Guadalajara this February. She has reached this stage (and gone beyond once) on the Challenger circuit but that hasn’t done much for her rankings.
She is now 23-23 and ranked #118. Overall, she has five WTA career singles finals to her name – the last one coming in January 2019.
Bogdan v Schmiedlova Prediction and Tip
Bogdan has the advantage heading into this match, especially considering her recent, brilliant streak. Schmiedlova, while experienced, is on shaky grounds and will have to put up a fight if she wants to get through.
