Lorenzo Musetti v Bernabe Zapata Miralles Head to Head

This will be their first meeting on the tour. However, they have met at the lower level twice with the Italian winning on both the occasions.

Musetti Brings Good Form to Florence

World no. 28 Lorenzo Musetti will begin his Florence campaign in the second round on Wednesday after the third seed received a first-round bye.

Musetti brings good form into the tournament. He was most recently a semifinalist at the Sofia Open.

The 20-year-old had scored a comeback win over Alexandar Lazarov and he then defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in the quarterfinals before going down to eventual champion Marc-Andrea Huesler in the semifinals.

The Italian is 24-22 overall on the tour and that includes his maiden ATP title at the Hamburg Open. It was his first ever appearance in a tour-level final and he won the ATP 500 event by beating Carlos Alcaraz in the title clash.

A solid clay court player, he also won a Challenger on the surface this year and has an overall record of 21-7 on clay. On hard courts, he hasn’t been that successful and an 11-13 season record is a proof of that.

However, having reached the third round of the U.S. Open for the first time and having finished as a semifinalist in Sofia, he will come home to Florence with some confidence behind him. Can he reach a sixth tour-level quarterfinal of the season with a win on Wednesday?

Zapata Miralles Knocks Out Sonego

Bernabe Zapata Miralles ousted Metz Open champion Lorenzo Sonego in the opening round in Florence on Tuesday.

The Spaniard, who is a clay court specialist, needed an hour and 35 minutes to beat the Italian 6-4, 6-4.

Zapata Miralles withstood eight aces from the World no. 51, and he also hit five fewer winners than Sonego’s 19. However, the Spaniard saved 2 of 3 break points that he faced in the match and converted 3 of 4 to pick up a rare hard court win. While he is 38-21 from all levels on clay this season, the World no. 74 is just 4-7 on hard courts in 2022.

The 25-year-old, who reached the fourth round at the French Open this year, has featured in two Challenger finals this year, winning in Meerbusch and finishing runner-up in Seville.

On the tour, he has reached just one quarterfinal this year and that was in Umag. Can he reach a second on Wednesday?

Musetti v Zapata Miralles Prediction and Tip

Musetti has the home advantage; he is also a better player on hard courts and is coming off a decent run in Sofia, so he will be expected to start with a win.

Tip: Musetti to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
