Jaume Munar v Guido Pella Head to Head
Pella won their only meeting in Buenos Aires in 2019. It was a quarterfinal meeting.

Munar Is 0-3 This Year
Jaume Munar has struggled in the initial phases of the season, having won just one set from his first three matches.
The Spaniard lost to Tallon Griekspoor in the opening round in Pune and then went down to Laslo Djere in the first round in Auckland despite taking the first set in that match.
Most recently he played at the Australian Open, but went down in straight sets to Dalibor Svrcina.
Ranked no. 65 in the world, the 25-year-old plays his best tennis on clay. He reached his only tour level final on clay at the Andalusia Open in 2021.
Munar has also won eight titles on the Challenger Tour, with seven of those coming on clay. He won two of them last year in Marbella and Perugia. Overall he finished 2022 with a 47-30 record and was 19-24 on the tour.
Yet to win this year, he will be looking to get going in Buenos Aires, where he has a decent 5-4 record. He was a quarterfinalist in 2019 and in 2021 but went down in the round of 16 in 2022. In the last two years, it was Doego Schwartzman who ended his run in the tournament and he could once again be playing against the Argentine in the quarterfinal if both stay unbeaten until then.

Pella Receives a Wild Card
Guido Pella has played very little tennis over the last three years. In fact the 32-year-old missed the entire 2022 season due to health reason.
But the Argentine returns this year, although ranked very lowly at 1018. However, he will be happy to be coming to the Buenos Aires Open having already registered a win in Cordoba. Pella defeated Italy’s Andrea Vavassori in the opening round, but fell in the second round to Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien.
It was the second tournament that Pella had participated in this year. Earlier the Argentine lost to Francesco Cerundolo in the opening round of the Australian Open.
Pella, who has won an ATP title from five finals, has a 7-7 record at the Buenos Aires Open. He was a semifinalist in 2019 and a quarterfinalist in 2018 and 2020.
Can he make an impact in this year’s edition?
Munar v Pella Prediction and Tip
Although Munar has not won a match so far this year, he has still been playing consistently and has produced decent results on clay over the last one year. He is expected to win the opener against Pella, who will still be a bit rusty.
