Alexander Zverev v Cameron Norrie Head to Head
This is the first time that the two players are facing each other on the ATP circuit.
Zverev Closing in on his First Singles Title of the Year
Following a rather disappointing start to the season, the rising German ace has finally started to live up to the expectations of his supporters. For the first time this season, Zverev has reached the semifinal on the tour and admittedly, he has done so with great style.
Without dropping a single set, the 21-year-old German moved past the likes of Alexei Popyrin, David Ferrer, and most recently, Alex de Minaur. His tennis, of late, has been full of tenacity – the kind of tennis that we saw in the closing months of the previous season. Back then, his form helped him win the ATP World Tour Finals by defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.
This time, if things go right, he will be lifting a 500 Series title and needless to mention, the ranking points there will help him retain his position in the top 3.
In addition to Acapulco, Zverev has only played in the Australian Open and Davis Cup. In the first case, he lost in the fourth round to Milos Raonic while in the second case, he won both of his singles ties to take Germany through to the next round against Hungary.

Norrie Looking Highly Determined
Cameron Norrie’s performance in Acapulco has been absolutely on par with that of Zverev’s. While he hasn’t defeated any big names in the tournament, he has done more than enough to reach the semifinals.
Starting with Yoshihito Nishioka in the first round, he moved on to defeat the fourth-seeded Argentinean Diego Schwartzman with 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3. After that, things got relatively simpler for the Brit, who then defeated Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets. Norrie also reached the semifinal in Los Cabos last year, when he lost to Fabio Fognini.
Since then, he spent most of the time trying to move past the early rounds albeit, in successful attempts. However, he did have an exception earlier this year in Auckland, where he was the runner-up. In the final, Norrie lost to Tennys Sandgren – his first such feat of his young career.
However, Auckland was his sole brilliant run this season, up until now. He lost in the early rounds in a string of competitions, starting with Melbourne and running all the way through ATP Cordoba, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro.
Alexander Zverev v Cameron Norrie Tips & Predictions
Zverev will start this match as the favourite to win – there is no doubt in that. At the same time, Norrie will be looking to register his second major win of his career against a top 10 player. He defeated John Isner in Lyon last year and he certainly has what it takes to defeat Zverev. He has a small chance of delivering the upset here although, the odds are heavily stacked against him.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 8/5 (Betway)
