Considering the participants over the years in Quito, the likes of Roberto Carballes Baena, Feliciano Lopez, Dusan Lajovic, Ivo Karlovic, Gael Monfils, and Albert Ramos Vinolas have paid a visit to the Ecuadorian capital.

The likes of Gael Monfils, Pablo Carreno Busta, and the three-time defending champion Victor Estrella Burgos succumbed rather early in the tournament.

In the end, it was the Spanish qualifier Roberto Carballes Baena who, against all odds, made his way to the final where he defeated his compatriot Vinolas to lift first and only singles title on the ATP circuit. The final was a three-set affair where the second seed put up a good fight although, it was Baena’s match to lose right from the beginning.
