The build-up to the French Open 2020 is in full swing with the last tournament before the big showdown in Paris to be played in Geneva. The 2020 Geneva Open, also known as Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open for sponsorship reasons, will be played in the week before that and you can find the latest Geneva Open betting tips & predictions here.

Being a part of the ATP World Tour 250 series, the tournament will feature some of the most promising players in the top 100. The likes of Alexander Zverev and Stan Wawrinka had both featured in the tournament last year and it can be expected to have a few of the top players this year too.

What remains to be seen is if the Geneva Open can attract some of the other top players too, especially since it will be played just before the French Open and most players have had their tennis tuned in and take a week off before the second major of the year.

What Happened at the 2020 ATP Geneva Open?

The 2019 edition of the Geneva Open was won by Alexander Zverev, who had to fight tooth and nail to overcome Nicolas Jarry in the final. He won 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 in the title-decider to get his year back on track after a few performances he wouldn’t have liked too much.

Also playing in the tournament was Stan Wawrinka, who was seeded second behind Zverev, and was dumped out in the second round. No other seeded player except Zverev and Radu Albot even reached the quarterfinal and Albot went on to the semifinals before bowing out.
