How to Watch the Hopman Cup Live

The Hopman Cup is an important tournament in the Australian Open series, which features international tennis teams, rather than individual players as seen on the WTA or ATP tour. The Hopman Cup Live Streaming options & how to watch it online and on TV can be found here for the 2019 edition of the competition.

The tournament is sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation, and features male and female players on the same team, representing their countries. The competition is of the mixed category and national coaches of the countries play no role in deciding the team.

Even though the individual player results are not included in the calculations towards the ranking, the Hopman Cup is still one of the most entertaining events in the Australian Open series. The event takes place in Perth, draws in huge crowds from Western Australia every season.

2019 Hopman Cup Schedule & Dates:

The 2019 Hopman Cup will be played in the first week of January. It kick-starts from December 29, 2018 and will go all the way up to January 5, 2019, when the final will be played.

Each year, eight teams from eight countries participate in the tournament. The eight teams are split in two groups of four, which then compete in a robin round format.

Every team, comprising of a male and a female player, plays three matches with the opposing team – one men’s singles match, one women’s singles match and a mixed doubles.

The leaders of each group compete in the final for the prestigious championship trophies, usually studded with gold and diamonds.
