Roberto Bautista Agut v Michael Mmoh Head to Head

The only meeting between the two resulted in a shock win for the 22-year-old Mmoh. The 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 victory was recorded in the second round of the Miami Masters in 2018.

Bautista Agut’s Hot Streak Continues

Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut has got off to an incredible start in 2020. Building on the perfect start he got at the ATP Cup, Bautista Agut made short work of countryman Feliciano Lopez in the first round of the Australian Open on Tuesday.

The 6-2, 6-2, 7-5 win over the 38-year-old Lopez also meant that the World No. 12 is yet to drop a set this year.

Bautista Agut had a stellar 2019, reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the semifinals of Wimbledon, having previously never made past the fourth round of a Grand Slam event. He also helped Spain win the Davis Cup despite having lost his father during the tournament.

The gutsy Spaniard is in great touch and would love to keep the momentum going as he aims to match his 2019 exploits in Melbourne.

In the next round, Bautista Agut will face the unfancied Michael Mmoh, who would want to remind the Spaniard of their previous meeting.

Mmoh Stuns Andujar in Opener

The 217th-ranked Mmoh caused a bit of an upset on Tuesday as he knocked out No. 63 Pablo Andujar in straight sets. The 1-6, 4-6, 4-6 defeat was the sixth consecutive defeat for the Spaniard in completed matches.

The 6″2’ Saudi Arabia-born Mmoh dominated from start to finish, hitting 8 aces, and 30 winners against the more-experienced Andujar.

Overall it was a disciplined performance from the American, who didn’t have a single double fault in the match and made only 28 unforced errors compared to Andujar’s 32.

Mmoh will take a lot of confidence into the next round, more so because Bautista Agut remains the highest ranked player that the 2016 USTA Junior National Champion has ever beaten in his pro career.
