Albert Ramos-Vinolas v Facundo Bagnis Predictions & Preview

Clay court specialists Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain and Facundo Bagnis of Argentina will go head to head in what will be their fourth meeting at the first round of the Cordoba Open on Tuesday. And Bagnis is yet to win a set in those first three matches, with Ramos-Vinolas having also beaten him at Sao Paulo in their last meeting in 2019.

With the obvious difference in the ranking on show as well, as Ramos-Vinolas is 42nd to his opponent’s 135th, it all boils down to whether he has prepped himself enough for the change in surface. Because all of the Spaniard matches this season so far have come on hard court while Bagnis has already played five, including three at the Punta del Este Challenger and a couple at the qualifiers here.

Could see Ramos-Vinolas get stretched as a result.

Juan Ignacio Londero v Marco Cecchinato Predictions & Preview

A 3-0 head to head record for Marco Cecchinato against Juan Ignacio Londero and his more recent record on clay should go a long way in deciding this encounter. Now while Londero is 50th in the world to Cecchinato’s 72nd, the latter is coming off a final’s appearance at the Punta del Este Challenger.

On the other hand, Londero, who won his maiden ATP title at Cordoba last year – and till date that’s his only title – will start off as a favourite, at 1/2 to win this but Cecchinato has a start on clay this season and won’t be making it easy. A three-setter in the offing looks like a near surety but we will refrain from picking a winner in this.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 3/1 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)

Hugo Dellien v Pedro Cachin Predictions & Preview

This is another match-up between two clay-court specialists in this first round in Cordoba and the fourth time they are meeting. Hugo Dellien and Pedro Cachin haven’t played each other since 2015, so the 2-1 head to head in favour of Cachin might not throw too much light to how this encounter might go.

Dellien, ranked 77th in the world, has played just two matches this season and lost both – the qualifier at Auckland and first round at the Australian Open. Over the five sets he played there, he won a shocking six games. And yet, he should start off as a huge favourite in this one given his solid play on clay.

Also, he is going up against an opponent ranked 354th in the world, who began his season with the Punta del Este Challenger where he lost in the first round – the only match he has played this year. And he is coming off a season where he was 16-21 on win-loss on clay.

Tip: Dellien to win in straight sets: 5/6 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)

Leonardo Mayer v Jaume Munar Predictions & Preview

World number 87 Jaume Munar will be up against the 103rd-ranked Leonardo Mayer in the first round match at the Cordoba Open in what will be their second meeting overall. The first time they played was last year at Rio de Janeiro where Munar won in straight sets.

Mayer went through the qualifiers, before losing out in the first round in Auckland, while Munar had a decent run at the Canberra Challenger before making the second round at the Australian Open.

All of their matches came on hard court though, but when one looks at their showing on clay over the years, Munar looks like the kind who prefers this surface. Mayer has been 27-27 on win-loss on clay over the past two seasons and might find it tough to get past his opponent.

Tip: Munar to win: 4/6 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
