What will be this Schroders Battle of the Brits Format?
The format of the men’s event was similar to the ATP Finals where the top players are divided into two groups with four players in each. Every player was involved in three round-robin matches and the top two at the end of the group stages qualified for the semifinals. That was followed by the final and a match for the third place.
The mixed team event, which will be played in the last week of July will have two teams of 13 players apiece win points in singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. Points will be awarded for each win with an increasing scale of points system in place.
It will begin with 1 point for each win for starters going on to five pointers on the last day of the Battle of the Brits. Team to reach 60 points first will win the competition. Doubles won’t have any advantage scoring and both singles and doubles will have a match tie-breaker in the third set.
