Later, Andy Murray himself confirmed on Instagram he had played golf for the first time in six years and felt good enough to not have any pain.
The Scot had undergone surgery on his hip that had been at the helm of his injury woes in recent times and had said he wasn’t sure of returning to playing tennis again. He had also expressed a hope he would be able to retire at the Wimbledon this year.
Since then, however, he has managed to come back to some sort of physical activity in sports like when he shared his video around hitting tennis balls and added: “It’s a start”.
And with another Instagram video posted on Monday, saying, “Played my first round of gold for 6 years yesterday…pain free. Hip resurfacing = (thumbs up)”, it looks like the signs are positive. While a tennis comeback is still some time off, Murray fans will be excited by the fact things are headed in the right direction.
Murray last played at the Australian Open where he lost in the opening round of the competition.
