Rafael Nadal v Stefanos Tsitsipas Head to Head
These players went head to head three times before this match and Nadal won all three matches without losing a single set. They have played twice last year, when Nadal won with 6-2, 6-1 in the finals of ATP Barcelona and with 6-2, 7-6 in the Toronto Masters finals.
The Australian Open semifinals played this January gave us another match between these two and Nadal won with easy 6-2, 6-4 and 6-0 in only an hour and 45 minutes.
Nadal is Looking Like his Best Self Here in Madrid
Rafael Nadal had no issues in the opening three matches of this tournament as he won all of them in straight sets and allowing only two break points to his opponents, losing only one service game of 27. He defeated Auger Aliassime 6-3, 6-3, then overcame Tiafoe 6-3, 6-4 and demolished Wawrinka last night in a solid 6-1, 6-2 result.
He seems to be back to his old dominant ways on clay after losing in Monte Carlo and Barcelona semifinals, to Fognini and Thiem. These are good news for him and his numerous fans as Roland Garros is just two weeks away and Rafa will try to win his 12th title in Paris this year.
Tsitsipas Enters after a Big Win over Zverev
The super talented Greek player managed to pull off a nice win over the third ranked Alexander Zverev yesterday as the final score was 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 in his favour, after two hours and 15 minutes of playing time.
He will certainly enter this match more tired as he spent an hour more on the court than Nadal so far in Madrid and has also played 13 matches more than the Spaniard in this year so far.
One thing going his way is that Tsitsipas has a 9/2 record on clay in 2019 so far which is the same record as Nadal.
Nadal v Tsitsipas Predictions & Tips
Nadal is undoubtedly the best player ever when it comes to playing on clay and I expect him to demonstrate it once again in this match.
Last time he faced Tsitsipas on clay he dropped only three games in the entire match and in their three head to head matches he lost only 15 games overall in seven played sets (2.14 games on average per set, which is just stunning). This is why it is easy to think that the Bull from Mallorca will once again beat the Greek youngster in two quick and easy sets.
Tip: Rafael Nadal to cover the -6.5 Asian handicap: 21/10 (888Sport)
