Kiki Bertens v Pauline Parmentier Head to Head

Parmentier currently holds a 3-0 lead over the Dutchwoman although, they last met in the 2015 Miami Open. This was at a time when Bertens wasn’t half the player she is right now.

Bertens – A Heavy Favourite in Paris

Bertens arrived in Paris shortly after delivering what has been her best performance on the clay surface in her entire career. She has firmly staked her claim as the clay specialist and is now the player to beat in the Roland Garros 2019.

In the four clay tournaments she has played in so far, Bertens has lost only three matches. She reached the semifinal on two occasions while in one case, she went all the way to become the champion.

Courtesy of her sensational performance, she cracked the top five and is now World No. 4 – her career-best singles ranking.

Bertens won the Madrid Open, where she defeated Simona Halep in the final after upsetting the likes of Petra Kvitova and Sloane Stephens. In Rome, she reached the semifinal where she succumbed to Johanna Konta, but not before putting up a commendable fight. In addition to this, the current Korea Open champion also won the WTA St. Petersburg earlier this year.

Parmentier’s Form Woes

In the season so far, there have been only a handful of moments where Parmentier has managed to deliver a breathtaking performance.

She is among those players who never quite crack the early rounds riddle. With the sole exception of WTA Budapest, where she was a quarterfinalist, Parmentier never quite got around to fully going the distance.

On clay, she had a far more disastrous run, losing in the first round in Strasbourg, Rabat, Lugano, and Charleston. In Madrid, however, she pulled a rabbit out of her hat when she defeated Elina Svitolina in the first round. But then, she fell to Yulia Putintseva almost immediately.

Bertens v Parmentier Predictions & Tips

This one is a no-brainer. Given the form that Bertens is in right now, especially on clay, expect her to win this without any major difficulties. While Parmentier has more experience, she lacks the form at the moment.

Tip: Under 17.5 games in the match: 19/20 (888Sport)
