Samantha Stosur and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga were the highest gainers on the rankings front after stunning performances in the respective tournaments they played in.

In a week which had multiple ATP and WTA tournaments played, there have been some interesting moves up and down on both the rankings charts.

The top 13 in the men’s rankings remain unchanged with Borna Coric’s march into the final at the St. Petersburg Open helping him gain one rank to number 14th on the ATP Rankings. David Goffin has fallen one spot to 15th. John Isner and Feliz Auger-Aliassime also gained a spot while Stan Wawrinka is now down two ranks to 21st.

The only other gainer in the top 30 is Lucas Pouille, who made it as far as the semi-final at the Moselle Open, losing to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at that stage. Tsonga, who went on to beat Aljaz Bedene in the final there, has gained 22 ranks is now up to 39th in the world, while Bedene moves up to 64th.

John Millman (15 spots) and Gregoire Barrere (nine) are the others to have risen this week in the rankings.

There was more action on the WTA front, but all of it was outside the top 10 as well. Angelique Kerber’s semi-final entrant at the Japan Women’s Open allowed her to gain three ranks, as did Madison Keys, who was a quarter-finalist before losing to Kerber.

Kerber is now ranked 12th on the WTA rankings while Keys has hopped up to 13th. Aryna Sabalenka and Sloane Stephens fall one rank while Qiang Wang went down four positions to be ranked 16th in the world.

However, the biggest gainer in the top 100 of the women’s rankings was Samantha Stosur, whose rare march into the final at the Guangzhou Open where she lost to Sofia Kenin, helped the Aussie gain 37 spots. She is now 92nd in the world. Kenin continued her sparkling season, adding to her titles collection and is now ranked 17th.

Among the other top gainers on the WTA circuit include Nina Stojanovic who has jumped up 12 spots to catapult into the top 100, Anna Blinkova and Wang Yafan who have both risen 10 spots and Misaki Doi, Vikorija Golubic and Karolina Muchova whose rankings have gone up by eight ranks.
