Stefanos Tsitsipas v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

The pair has played each other once before, in the Madrid Open earlier this year, with Tsitsipas winning easily in straight sets.

Tsitsipas Re-discovered Winning Feeling in Geneva

Tsitsipas comes into this event straight from Geneva, where he helped Team Europe beat the Rest of the World to lift the Laver Cup.

For the 21-year-old Greek, it will have been good to re-discover that winning feeling again after recent disappointments. He began the year in superb form, reaching his first Grand Slam semi-final in Melbourne. He then won senior career title number two in Marseille and number three in Estoril, and was the beaten finalist both in Dubai and Madrid.

However, after reaching the fourth round at Roland Garros, he suffered a first round defeat at Wimbledon. A semi-final appearance in Washington promised more to come, but he was then beaten at the first time of asking in Montreal, Cincinnati and, most dispiriting of all, Flushing Meadows.

Mannarino, Experienced French Competitor

Mannarino is an experienced professional who has been on the tour a long time, and it took him 15 years to win his first ATP senior singles titles on the grass of s-Hertogenbosch in June. That victory was all the sweeter for the 31 year-old Frenchman because it came after six successive losses in all his previous finals.

Apart from that, his best results in 2019 have come on the doubles court – with his partner, and compatriot Hugo Nys, he reached the semi-finals in New York, and the semi-finals in Delray Beach.

Last week he suffered a shock loss, when he was well beaten by the qualifier from Belarus, Egor Gerasimov, in the St. Petersburg Open. But he shrugged that off with a comfortable first round victory over the Chinese wildcard, Ze Zhang of China, on Monday.

Tsitsipas v Mannarino Predictions & Tips

Tsitsipas is the odds-on favourite to win this match at 2/5, whilst Mannarino is 5/2. Whilst Mannarino is a seasoned competitor, Tsitsipas should have enough in his locker to defeat him, provided there are no ill-effects for the Greek from jet-lag because of having to fly from Switzerland to China.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets: 8/11 (888Sport)
