Fabio Fognini v John Isner Predictions & Tips
This will be the sixth meeting between Fognini and Isner and the American holds a narrow edge with a head to head record of 3-2. Surprisingly though, the last time they played each other was in 2016, in the Cincinnati Masters and a lot has obviously changed over the last three years. What hasn’t changed too much is Isner’s serving and one can expect him to out-serve his opponent in this one.
No surprises that Isner starts off as a favourite here, but we are looking at something slightly better than the 4/6 for his win. A first set win for Isner, which is at 8/11.
Tip: Isner to win the first set: 8/11 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
Gael Monfils v Stan Wawrinka Predictions & Tips
Another closely-fought rivalry will see Frenchman Monfils take on Grand Slam winner and Swiss player Wawrinka. Wawrinka, the world number 16, is 4-3 ahead on head to head against Monfils, who is ranked 10, and they had played each other as recently as the Rotterdam Open earlier this year. It was the title-decider which went to the third set with Monfils winning it.
Nothing to choose between the two, with both starting off at 5/6 to win this but we are going with Wawrinka to edge this.
Tip: Wawrinka to win: 5/6 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
Daniil Medvedev v Jan-Lennard Struff Predictions & Tips
When Daniil Medvedev takes on Jan-Lennard Struff, there is only one player on whom most eyes will be – the Russian who ran off to such a brilliant end of 2019. Medvedev ended the year ranked five and while he didn’t make the ATP Finals semifinal, he will be a player to watch every time he takes to court.
On head to head, Medvedev leads 4-1, and with Struff ranked 35th in the world, he will find it tough to get past his opponent. What could be interesting to watch is if the German can Medvedev to three sets.
Tip: Medvedev to win in three sets: 15/4 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
David Goffin v Lucas Pouille Predictions & Tips
The world number 11 David Goffin has lost three of his four matches against the 22nd-ranked Lucas Pouille, but they haven’t played since 2017. Pouille made the semifinal at the Australian Open earlier in the year but had an ordinary year otherwise, not winning a single title at the highest level. Goffin had his own struggles but then made it to the final at Cincinnati and the semifinal at the Tokyo Open to get himself some momentum coming into the new season.
Goffin might hold bit of an edge here, and he starts off a bookmakers’ favourite too.
Tip: Goffin to win: 4/7 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
