Daniil Medvedev v Frances Tiafoe Head to Head
This will be their third meeting with both players having won once apiece. Of course, Medvedev’s victory came in 2019, at the Washington Open where he defeated Tiafoe in straight sets while the American had won a qualifier on clay in Nice in 2015.

Tiafoe Trying for Turnaround
Less than year ago, Tiafoe was looking to break into the top 25 of the ATP Rankings but the form looks to have deserted him since. In fact, 2019 turned out to be a depressingly underwhelming year for Tiafoe who failed to reach the semifinal of even one ATP tournament whole year.
That was after his quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open where he edged past Kevin Anderson and Grigor Dimitrov and another last-eight entry in Miami. There, he won three matches in a row before losing to Denis Shapovalov.
However, only two quarterfinal appearances followed after that, and both at ATP 250 competitions, while losing 30 of the 53 matches he played in meant he started off the season ranked 47th in the world. And what makes it worse is the start to the 2020 season too in which he has lost both his first round matches at Doha Open and Auckland Open.
