The Hua Hin Open in Thailand will not see its defending champion feature this year but Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard is all set to play at this competition in 2020.

Yastremska had won the title last year by overcoming Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic in the final that went the distance. She had earlier sent out the top seed and two-time Grand Slam winner Garbine Muguruza as well in Hua Hin 2020.

However, this year, the Ukrainian, who was ousted in the second round at the 2020 Australian Open, has opted not to play at the WTA Hua Hin.

Some of the other players who will feature in this tournament that replaced the Taiwan Open, include China’s Zheng Saisai, Wang Yafan and Zhu Lin, Poland’s Magda Linette and Ons Jabeur, one of the toasts at the Australian Open recently.

The Hua Hin Open will be played at the True Arena Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province with its first round matches starting off on February 10. The final will be played on February 16.

In other news, Canada’s Bouchard has also confirmed her participation in the tournament, taking a wild-card for it. Some of the other players expected to take part include Arina Rodionova of Australia, Ankita Raina of India and Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko. More information on how to watch the Hua Hin Open live streaming can be found here, while you can buy tickets for the Hua Hin Open here.
