Petra Kvitova v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
The duo have played each other thrice before this and Kvitova has won every single time. Those matches came at the Prague Open in 2018, Dubai Open in 2019 and earlier this year, they met at the Australian Open too where Kvitova dropped just one game to make it to the second round.

Kvitova Rusty against Barbora Krejcikova
And that was expected. After all most of these players have not played a lot of competitive tennis in nearly three months and some of them hadn’t even begun practice till about a few days back.
Given that being the situation, Kvitova would have been pleased to come through in her quarterfinal match against the 115th-ranked Krejcikova in straight sets, winning 7-6, 6-2. A much sterner test, however, awaits Kvitova now that she takes on the 54th-ranked Siniakova.
Before coming into this tournament, Kvitova had last featured at the Doha Open late in February and defeated Jelena Ostapenko, Ons Jabeur and Ash Barty to make it to the final. There she had lost to Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.

Siniakova Hoping for Turnaround
Siniakova had gone into the pandemic-induced break on the back of just seven wins and six defeats this year. Just one of those wins came in the main draw of a WTA tournament and the one other main draw victory which did happen was at the Indian Wells $125k, which was one of the last tournaments played before the tour suspension.
Which is why a straight-set win over Lucie Hradecka was a good beginning to the tournament for her but one must remember her opponent has fallen to outside the top 450 in the world. Kvitova, for all rustiness, can be expected to be a better opposition.
What Siniakova will look to do is conjure up her showing from the 2019 Dubai Open in which she managed to stretch Kvitova to a very tough three-setter.
