Magda Linette v Jennifer Brady Head to Head
There is a three-match history between Linette and Brady and the latter leads the head to head 2-1. In their first match ever, played at the Australian Open in 2018, Linette had come through in straight sets but in the following two matches including one at the Southsea ITF competition and the Cincinnati Open last year, Brady had won.

Hua Hin Open winner Linette could have expected bit of a fight from Lauren Davis but the match went in favour of the Pole without much ado. Linette won 6-2, 6-3 to make it to the second round.
At Hua Hin, Linette got a tad lucky with her draw and the opponents she faced, but she had also won another title last season in New York. Earlier this year, Linette also won all her three singles matches in the Fed Cup, and while some of her other tournament results haven’t been noteworthy this year, the Pole has shown what she is capable of.
Aged 28, Linette is just three places away from her career-best of 33rd, making her bit of a late bloomer and if she can maintain this form, she might find herself pushing for a place in the top 20.

Brady Cruises Through Too
Much like Linette, there was no stopped Brady either as she made it through to the second round with a 6-2, 6-1 drubbing of Heather Watson in her opener.
Interestingly, Brady had earlier played in the World TeamTennis, featuring in a total of 11 matches and winning seven of them. She finished the tournament on a five-match winning streak. And earlier this year, Brady came into the WTA Dubai competition as a qualifier and made it all the way to the semifinal.
On her way to getting there, she defeated Elina Svitolina, Marketa Vondrousova and Garbine Muguruza, all top players.
Brady’s game is based on power but it’s also down to the desire to stay in the encounter and keep herself in the contest. And that would be something similar to what would be needed from her against a player like Linette.
