Possible Retelling of a David v Goliath Story for Martin?
It would be an understatement to call Andrej Martin an underdog in this contest. The odds are stacked so much against him that even winning a set would be more than a result for him; many bookmakers seem to agree with that sentiment as well. But it’s one of those scenarios where you just can’t see the pendulum swinging in his favor at all.
This is his second French Open tournament appearance; his fourth grand slam appearance in total. Dimitrov’s 10 appearances in the French Open alone more than double that already. And for someone desperately struggling for form this year, the last thing that he’d want in a major tournament is to face a seeded player so early on.
