Pera’s Won Just Three Since August

Having played in seven WTA tournaments since the resumption of tennis in August, Pera has won just three matches so far.

Things had looked far better and might have given her a lot more hope when she took the first set off Serena Williams in the first round of her first ever tournament since the pandemic break ended, but there hasn’t been much else that’s gone her way since.

While Williams expectedly won that match, it was followed by a rare couple of wins in the next two tournaments – opening round at the Cincinnati Open against Heather Watson and another first round victory against Zarina Diyas at the US Open. Her only other victory since came at the French Open when she made it to the second round by defeating Cici Bellis.

With a three-set loss in the qualifiers of Ostrava Open before this tournament, Pera could have a mountain to climb, especially indoors where she has won just one match over the past three seasons.

Sasnovich Hasn’t Played Since Roland-Garros

The Belarusian Sasnovich isn’t particularly fond of clay but she hasn’t played any tennis since her second round ouster at the French Open late in September. She has had a solid post-pandemic season though.

Playing her first match at the Palermo Open after the resumption of tennis, Sasnovich needed to win three qualifiers to make it to the main draw before stunning Elise Mertens in the opener. Eventually she made it as far as the quarterfinal in the tournament.

Since that showing, Sasnovich has entered the third round at the US Open, which included a win over Marketa Vondrousova and another last-eight showing at the Istanbul Open. And while she went down in the second round of the French Open, Sasnovich will be pleased to have made it back into the top 100 of the rankings – she had begun the year ranked 69th and fell to 120th in the world since.

Pera v Sasnovich Prediction And Tip

Sasnovich’s form and her reasonably strong record indoors makes her a favourite here, she starts off 4/7 to win this, and we will be happy to go along with those odds.

Tip: Sasnovich to win: 4/7 (bet365)
