David Goffin v Nicola Kuhn Head to Head
The two have never faced each other in a competitive match before. This will be the first-ever encounter between the 30-year-old Belgian and the 20-year-old Spaniard.

Goffin, the number two seed and one of the favorites of the tournament, came back in his first-round tie against Pierre-Hugues Herbert after losing the first set.
That very first set proved to be a close affair. Goffin capitalized on both of his break points, but Herbert’s three converted break points proved to be the deciding factor of that set.
The second set was even closer than the first. They both broke each other in the first games of the set, before going with serve until the ninth game of the set when Herbert broke Goffin to go 5-4 up.
A nervy affair then ensued, with Goffin facing match point on five occasions; but his resilience helped him break the Frenchman instead. He then won the next two games and took the set 7-5.
Momentum was then on his side, and he rode that wave to win the third set convincingly 6-0.
He now heads into this second round tie against Kuhn as a 1/10 favorite.

Bachinger Retires Against Kuhn
Like his second-round opponent, Kuhn found himself trailing after losing the first set.
Despite getting seven break points in that set, Kuhn squandered them all. Matthias Bachinger, on the other hand, got two break points and converted one, which ultimately proved crucial in giving the German the first set.
The Spanish youngster was more efficient in the second set. He got one break point that he managed to convert and gave Bachinger no chance to break back. Kuhn started the third set strongly as well. After he went 4-1 up, Bachinger was forced to retire because of a knee problem, which gifted an already progressing Kuhn access to the second round.
This will be the third time that Kuhn plays in the second round of an ATP-level tournament, and he’ll be hoping to make it to the quarterfinals for the first time in his career. However, he walks into the tie as the massive underdog and is priced at 11/2.

Despite previously close first-round encounters in this tournament, I expect this one to be a one-sided affair. Goffin has all it takes to dominate Kuhn with ease and really prove that he is title worthy.
