Pablo Andujar v Juan Ignacio Londero Head to Head
Andujar ranked 55th in the world, lost to Londero in their only meeting before this at the Lima Challenger in 2018.

First Clay Court Outing for Andujar
Pablo Andujar will be playing in his first clay-court match of the season, but this is actually his third continent participation. The 35-year-old Spaniard, seeded sixth this week, commenced his 19th season on tour at the Delray Beach Open last month before travelling for the year’s first Grand Slam.
Then after a month-long stay in Australia in which he won one match, he makes a swift return to the dirt in South America. Andujar regards clay as his forte and it is hard to argue with that narrative. Andujar has won all four career titles on the ATP tour on the surface, and incidentally, his trophy-laden success in the Challengers and ITF circuits have also come on clay.
Now at the twilight of his career, in a journey that saw him make extraordinary comebacks from career-ending injuries, Andujar is cherishing the moments. It is a testament to his grit and determination that he is ranked inside the top 100 (currently 55th in the world), considering he missed two years on the treatment table.
Andujar played in eight competitive events on clay, one more than on any other surface last season. His best showing was at the Prostejov Challenger where he finished runner-up to Kamil Majchrzak.

Londero Seeks First Win of 2021
For Juan Ignacio Londero, the wait for a main draw win stretches to five matches. Even a return to his home city last week could not get him to cross the finish line. Londero whose last match win came in that mammoth five-setter against Federico Delbonis at last year’s French Open first round, came close to return to winning ways in Cordoba.
Londero led Albert Ramos Vinolas by a set, playing with a heavy forehand. But capitulated in the next two sets allowing the Spaniard to take charge. His second serve in particular was extremely poor throughout the contest. He won 39% of second serve points. Ramos Vinolas fashioned 14 break point chances and converted six. It is certainly a general area of weakness that somebody like Pablo Andujar will look to exploit.
Since he burst onto the scene with a sensational title win in Corodoba in 2019, the 27-year-old Argentine has played with distinction during the South American Golden Swing. Last year, Londero’s six wins in February accounted for over 50% of his total wins during the entire season.
He reached the semifinals in Buenos Aires in 2020.
Andujar v Londero Prediction and Tip
Neither played has set the world alight in the early part of the season, but backing Londero to end his winless run seems like the smart option here.
Tip: Londero to win: 4/6 (bet365)
