Jelena Ostapenko v Patricia Maria Tig Head to Head
The only meeting between Ostapenko and Tig took place in 2015 in St Petersburg, Ostapenko winning that encounter in three sets.

Ostapenko Hoping To Regain Lost Form
Ostapenko continues that elusive search for the form that once made her a French Open winner and a top ten player. Since then it has been a long saga of disappointing results and early exits from events.
Her best result in 2021 came in the Gippsland Trophy warm-up event, where she got to the third round befroe going out to Elina Svitolina.
Howeevr, her challenge at the Australian Open ended at the first-round stage, as she was well beaten by Karolinaa Muchova of the Czech Republic.
She did enjoy a good first round victory in Doha against Kiki Bertens , but her run there was ended by the American Jessica Pegula, the world 44, losing in straight sets.

Tig, A Winner in Istanbul Last Year
.Tig won her maiden WTA senior title in Istanbul last year – having been defeated in two previous finals – beating Eugenie Bouchard of Canada in a tense three set battle decided by a tie-break. Buoyed by that performance, she went on to reach the third round of the French Open.
2021 has not gone so well for her so far – in Melbourne, she lost in the first round of the Gippsland Trophy and then in the opening round of the Australian Open, she was beaten by compatriot Sorana Cirstea.
She enjoyed better fortune in the Philip Island Trophy, getting to the third round, only to have to retire midway through her match with Jil Belen Teichmann of Switzerland with an injury.
Trying to qualify for the tournament in Doha last week, she lost to the American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, now ranked 299 in the world.
Ostapenko v Tig Prediction and Tip
Ostapenko will begin as the favourite to win this match based on her higher world ranking and the fact that she won their only previous match. That though went to three sets and it would not be a surprise if this match does as well.
