Wawrinka Still to Find Rhythm
While things started off well for Wawrinka, signs of cracks have been on display along with that. For starters he made it to the quarterfinals of the Murray River Open but not before he needed three sets in both of his victories.
An easy first round win at the Australian Open against Pedro Sousa gave Wawrinka a chance to regain his confidence, but a second round defeat to Marton Fucsovics was quite surprising. And when he fell in straight sets to Karen Khachanov in the opening round of the Rotterdam Open last week, it does seem like Wawrinka will need to get some sort of a rhythm back in his game.
Last year, Wawrinka made it to just one ATP semifinal, but there were enough occasions to suggest he still belongs to the top 20. Like the quarterfinal at the Australian Open early in the season, or a quarterfinal late in the year at the Paris Masters.
Can he now look at this competition in Doha where the focus will be on the other Swiss maestro, to make his comeback?

Harris Coming off Best Majors Performance
Never before this season had Harris ever made it past the second round at a Grand Slam competition with a best effort of a second round appearance coming in the 2020 French Open and US Open. The season’s first major, the Australian Open, saw Harris break that barrier and enter round three, and even had a chance to go further when he fell to MacKenzie McDonald.
This performance, however, has been sandwiched by two opening round exits, one at the Murray River Open and another at the ATP Singapore two weeks ago.
Last season, Harris ended the year with back to back quarterfinal appearances in ATP competitions but more pertinently, having gotten to the main draw as a qualifier.
It needed Harris a qualifying win to get into the main draw of this competition as well but now the question is if he can stretch the former Grand Slam winner.
Wawrinka v Harris Prediction and Tip
Wawrinka is the favourite at 4/9 but we reckon Harris might have it in him to clinch at least one set.
Tip: Harris to win a set – Yes: 4/6 (bet365)
