Roberto Bautista Agut v Alexander Bublik Head to Head
The 23-year-old Bublik won their only previous contest in Moscow in 2016, defeating the 32-year-old Bautista Agut in straight sets.

Bautista Agut Holds Off Opelka
2019 Doha champion Roberto Bautista Agut overcame an early setback to battle past America’s Reilly Opelka in the first round of the Qatar Open on Monday.
The fifth seed Spaniard withstood 22 aces from the 6’11” Opelka before seeing off the American 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and four minutes.
The win improved the World No. 13 to 5-5 this year.
Having begun with a 1-2 record at the ATP Cup, the 32-year-old faced a shock first-round defeat to Moldova’s Radu Albot in the Australian Open.
Putting the Melbourne disappointment behind him, Bautista Agut regained form at Montpellier, reaching the final by easing past Gregoire Barrere, Ugo Humbert and Peter Golowczyk in preceding rounds.
However, a 10th title remained elusive as he fell to David Goffin in the final. The Belgian fought back from a set down to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 and claim his fifth title on the tour.
Having lost an eighth career final, Bautista Agut headed to Rotterdam last week, but exited the tournament without winning a match, going down in straight sets to compatriot Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
In 2019, Bautista Agut reached the Qatar Open final by beating Stan Wawrinka in the last eight and Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. He picked his ninth career title by edging out Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych in a three-set thriller.
The 2019 Wimbledon semifinalist chose not to participate in the event last year.

Bublik Breezes Past Indian Qualifier
On Wednesday, Bautista Agut will face Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik, who knocked out Indian qualifier Ramkumar Ramanathan in the first round on Monday.
In a dominating performance, Bublik saved all four of the break points he faced and converted three of six to beat the 26-year-old right-hander 6-4, 6-2 in an hour and 14 minutes.
Ranked 44th in the world, the 6’5” Kazakh landed 61% of his first serves and won 86% of those points. He also struck seven aces and made just two double faults compared to his opponent’s six.
Yet to win a title on the tour, the 23-year-old Bublik has reached four finals, two of which were this year.
Beginning the year in Antalya, Bublik won four matches on the trot to reach the final. However, an injury forced him to withdraw from the title clash after just two games in the match, handing Alex Di Minaur his fourth career title.
The Kazakh reached his second final of the year in Singapore last month, but remained title-less after going down to Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in a three-set final.
Monday’s win improved him to 11-5 this year.
Agut v Bublik Prediction and Tip
Roberto Bautista Agut has blown hot and cold this year, while his opponent has performed consistently.
Bublik has not only reached two finals but has also shown the ability to cause big upsets. He knocked out top seed Matteo Berrettini in Antalya and got his most significant win of the season last week against Alexander Zverev in Rotterdam.
So expect this to be a good contest with the winner being decided in the third set.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
